Appropriate healthcare should be available to everyone regardless of age, race, wealth, health, other personal characteristics, or location.
Caring must begin within our local communities and we will support and promote individuals’ physical and mental well-being within the community. A key aim will be to enable people to access information and make well-informed decisions for themselves on lifestyle and health choices.
Support mechanisms will be geared to reflect the diverse needs of the communities we serve, and will be accessible to all.
New initiatives will be implemented, including suitable meeting spaces to encourage face-to-face contact and support networks to reduce levels of isolation and loneliness.
Healthcare must be easily accessible, and we will work with the NHS and planners to ensure that areas are well served by GP and related services, and with access to other facilities that support health and wellbeing.
Social care should be consistently accessible to those in need, including the elderly, and we will prioritise local infrastructure that facilitates its delivery.
A key priority will be to achieve safer neighbourhoods by supporting communities and removing barriers to effective policing.
