Small independent businesses are the beating heart of our city, yet business owners tell us they feel ignored by local councillors from mainstream parties.
This has become even more apparent since the installation of the Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and loss of customer parking which have contributed to a drop off in trade for many Oxford businesses.
We will represent the needs of Oxford’s brilliant and diverse businesses, be they newsagents, pubs, cafes, mechanics or dog walkers, plumbers or mobile hairdressers.
While current councillors appear to have little understanding of the difficulties local businesses face, the Independent Oxford Alliance already has strong links with the various traders groups across the City.
We will work on a ‘bottom up’ not ‘top down’ basis to properly represent the views of business owners.
