Oxford’s educational institutions are renowned worldwide, but educational standards in some of our schools are amongst the lowest in the country. This divide must be addressed.
The cost of housing is a barrier to attracting and retaining good quality teachers. New housing policies will seek to address this issue and ensure teachers have an appropriate option to live within their community.
The ability of all parents and students to choose the most appropriate educational options for them will be enhanced, and provision for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) will be prioritised.
Parents’ wishes will be respected in local schools and there will be transparency about the curriculum, with meaningful engagement across the community.
